Mary in the Junkyard Uniondale Concert reviews
Incredible Show Despite The Weather
The incredible performance by Mr. Corgan and his band was the highlight of the evening, despite the rain pouring sideways outside the canopy-covered amphitheater. The stage, being the most vulnerable place, was where the band played a solid 130-minute set, getting very wet in the process. The playlist featured most of their hits from over the years, with several newer songs sprinkled in, creating a fantastic experience for fans new and old. There was an interesting mix in the audience, with both older and younger fans equally thrilled with the show. The 50'+ stack of video screens behind the performers provided an interesting accompaniment to the music, displaying all types of wild effects, patterns, and colors. When the stage lights went out for about 5 minutes, likely due to the awash stage area, these video screens became the only source of lighting. The band didn't miss a beat and continued playing to the joy of the hearty crowd. The sound was well mixed, with all the musicians cleanly coming through the audio onslaught. After a 10-minute encore, the band stopped just before the venue's sound curfew. Knowing where their bread is buttered, the band lingered at the front of the stage for a while to sign some autographs and generally appreciate their rapturous audience. This concert was a wonderful experience and one of the best I've gone to in my 54 years on this planet!
